New World Notes - Big Band (Educational Podcast Episode)

• ​This Podcast project is a history of American Big Band music. We explore the genre from its beginnings in the early 20th century, to modern day Big Bands .
• ​I designed this lesson to be supplemental material to a unit on Jazz History in a high school jazz band, or even a concert band.
• By the end of this lesson students will have a basic knowledge of the history and evolution of the genre of Big Band music.
• This project supports many of the 'Connect' components of  the new National Standards, tying musical learning to cultural learning
